TESTICLE BIOPSY
Surgical sperm retrieval by testicular biopsy (TESA)
Testicular biopsy consists of removing a small sample of tissue from one or both testicles. This is a simple surgical procedure. The spermatozoids with sufficient motility are obtained from the sample extracted and can later be used in an ICSI treatment.
This technique is suitable for men whose ejaculate lacks spermatozoids, who have a very low number of spermatozoids or when the percentage of sperm DNA fragmentation is high.
