CRYOPRESERVATION OF EGGS
You can postpone the moment of having children until you decide to have them
EGG VITRIFICATION
Egg vitrification is an assisted reproduction technique that enables freezing a woman’s eggs so that they can be used later in the future when she decides to become a mother. This procedure has already allowed the birth of many children in Spain, with pregnancy rates similar to those obtained with fresh eggs.
This technique is suitable in the following cases:
- Women who wish to preserve fertility: young women with or without a partner who wish to delay maternity for personal or professional reasons.
- Women who have to undergo cancer treatment: chemotherapy and radiation therapy can do irreversible damage to the oocytes, so egg vitrification enables a woman to have a child once the disease is beaten.
- Couples that have fertility treatment and do not wish to freeze embryos due to moral motives.
- Women with a low ovarian reserve: this technique enables the accumulation of oocytes, following several cycles of stimulation, prior to the initiation of the chosen assisted reproduction technique.
