The main points are:
 It could improve the sperm quality.
 When having polycystic ovaries, it improves the ovulation process and optimizes the success chances, and therefore enhancing the response to the In Vitro Fertilization treatments.
 Adding this vitamin when having endometriosis, reduces the pain, improves the pregnancy chances and diminishes the invasive activity of the endometrial tissue.
 It prevents in some way the appearance and growth of fibroids.
 Within the immune system, it seems to improve the endometrial tolerance to the embryonic tissue, that will implant there, thus reducing its rejection. This is very important, because within In Vitro Fertilization treatments, the endometrial receptivity is one of the main causes of implantation failure
Vitamin D is obtained in two ways:
– 80% as Provitamin D, synthesized by plants. After being ingested (food) it is deposited on the skin. Then, the ultraviolet rays of sunlight make this vitamin active.
– 20% is obtained directly in the form of active vitamin D, that can be found in milk, orange juices, blue fish (salmon and sardines) or in food supplements.
CONCLUSIONS:
It is important to have good levels of vitamin D for bone metabolism and in particular when we are facing an assisted reproduction treatment, from insemination to IVF (IVF / ICSI or Egg Donation), and within all the techniques in which we need to have good endometrial receptivity.
It is advisable a diet rich in vegetables and blue fish, and regular sunbathing with caution.
Before starting an assisted reproduction treatment, it is convenient to have a blood test stating the vitamin D level, and in case it is low, it would be necessary to take vitamin supplements.
Do not hesitate to make any question you may have at info@centromedicomanzanera.com or through the contact form that you will find on our website https://centromedicomanzanera.com/en/formulario_en/

Gregorio Manzanera

IMAGE: Taken from https://www.luciamipediatra.com/

#assistedreproduction
#fertilitytreatment
#eggdonation
#IVF
#ICSI
#ivficsi
#artificialinsemination
#manzaneraclinic
#vitamind

Until now, the role of vitamin D was well known on bone metabolism, it regulates the calcium absorption in the intestine, and creates a good bone structure to prevent osteoporosis.
