\nIs it normal to feel anxious before starting IVF?
\nYes, it is perfectly normal. Assisted reproduction involves emotional, hormonal and organisational changes that can cause concern or uncertainty.
\nMany patients feel:

\n\u2022 uncertainty about the unknown,
\n\u2022 anxiety about tests or medication,

\nThis is one of the most frequently asked questions and also one of the concerns we most often hear during consultations.
\nMost IVF treatments require subcutaneous medication, administered via small injections. Although this may be daunting at first, most patients manage to adapt quickly.

\nDoes ovarian stimulation cause many symptoms?
\nEvery woman may experience the treatment differently. Some patients notice hardly any discomfort, whilst others experience mild symptoms related to the hormonal medication.
\nThe most common symptoms are usually:
\n\u2022 a feeling of abdominal bloating,
\n\u2022 tiredness,
\n\u2022 breast tenderness,
\n\u2022 mood swings,
\n\u2022 discomfort similar to premenstrual symptoms.

\nDoes an ovarian aspiration hurt?
\nFollicular aspiration is a brief procedure carried out under sedation, so the patient feels no pain during the procedure.
\nAfter the procedure, the following may occur:

\n\u2022 a feeling of pressure.
\nRecovery is usually quick and most patients can resume light activity on the same day.
